6th Newport Scout Group is always looking to fundraise. We have constructed this page to show you some of the ways you can help raise funds for the scout group!
Sainsbury’s Active Kids – We’re collecting now!
Yet again, we have signed up to the Sainsbury’s Active Kids Scheme, collecting vouchers for games and sports equipment. In previous years, we have collected in excess of 3000 vouchers, which enabled the group to buy basketball nets, tennis balls, juggling sets, volleyball equipment and other games.
We would be grateful if you could ask your friends and relatives to collect the vouchers for us. A box for depositing vouchers will be available in the scout hall, or you can hand the vouchers into your section leader.
Our target this year is to collect 4000 vouchers; we have until May to reach this target, let’s all try to beat this so we can buy more great equipment for Beavers, Cubs and Scouts.
Scouts Appeal
6th Newport Scout Group is actively recycling, and recently signed up to the Scouts Appeal. A new fundraising programme which allows us as a group to claim money back from recycled Printer Cartridges, PDA’s, and Mobile Phones.
Taking part is easy and completely free, all we ask is that you save your used printer cartridges, mobile phones and PDA’s on our behalf. A collection box can be provided and when it is full the products will be collected free of charge.
EasyFundRaising Shopping
We have been a member of EasyFundRaising since 2005 – due to its effective and proven methods of raising funds for the scout group.
EasyFundRaising allows you to shop online at thousands of retailers, but earn a commission for the group. The amount we earn varies between retailers, but on average we’ll receive 10% for each sale made.

EasyFundRaising Search Engine
EasyFundRaising Search is a rather new feature. You are now able to use the EasyFundRaising search engine to search for stuff online! The search engine combines the results from many popular search engines, such as Yahoo Search and MSN Live. Easysearch tracks down the most relevant and accurate search results from across the Web, which means you’ll find what you’re looking for quickly and easily every time – in one ‘easy’ search!
Each search that is made will earn on average 1p for our scout group – this doesn’t sound like much, but if we all participate, we could be looking at making hundreds of pounds a year for the scout group.
