We are holding our AGM on Tuesday 26th June at the Scout Hut, Bank Street from 6pm.  All members, parents, district scouting members and local residents are invited to attend.  Refreshments will be provided.                          

This year we are celbrating 100 years of scouting with a massive District camp in Magor.  We will be joining all the groups from Newport to celebrate with a huge choice of activities, a hog roast, camp fire and fireworks!!!                                                  

The Beavers, Cubs and Scouts will be marching from the Civic Centre on Sunday 22nd April with the rest of the district and as it is 2007 the rest of the area!!!  Lets make sure this is well attended and prove the 6th Newport is one of the biggest and best groups around.

This years scout post has just been launched, with the aim to beat last years total of £1,000.  Parents new to the group are advised to speak to a section leader, they will advise you on the procedure and what level of committment we will need from you.

On Sunday 12th November the leaders, scouts and older cubs will participate in this years remembrance parade.  Letters have been sent to all invited, if you would like further information please e-mail info@6thnewportscouts.org.uk.

Saturday 26th August, 3pm

Come along to enjoy our slow roasted hog, cooked to perfection with crispy crackling and applesauce all served in a fresh roll.

Once you have eaten why not try your luck at one of our games stalls.  there will also be face painting, play your cards right, beat the goalie, refreshments and the long awaited 'soak the leader' - now is your chance to throw wet sponges at the leaders!

There are heaps of prizes going in our raffle, including a top prize of a Meal for 4 and a bottle of wine, at the Hilton Hotel, Newport, second prize is Sunday Lunch at the Holiday Inn and third prize of a signed Newport Gwent Dragons rugby ball and Celtic League tickets.

On Sunday 4th September we are inviting all members and parents to come to a BBQ at Wentwood.  Letters will be going out shortly with details, otherwise please contact a leader for more information.

This year's Group camp took place on 1st to 3rd July.  Over 40 Cubs, Scouts and Leaders camped over the weekend, which also saw some Beavers attending for the Saturday, along with a large turnout of parents and families for the hog roast and evening entertainment.

There will also be face painting, a bring and buy plant stall, card tricks, refreshments, hot dogs, a teddy tombola, henna art and the long awaited ‘Soak the Leader’ – yes that’s right Cubs – now is your chance to throw wet sponges at Akela!
